Overview
One of the first things that will strike you about this handsome room is the cedar closet. It’s the only one in the mansion, confirming that this was, indeed, Mrs. Fairbanks bedroom. Originally, there was a passage way between this room and Major Fairbanks’ bedroom next door. Today, there is no such connection. The original carved soapstone fireplace remains and, instead of burning coal as would have been the case in the 1800’s, candles will be the fuel of choice in the current century.
